The Defense Systems Division is part of the Parker Aerospace Group, located in Irvine, California. Our products are used across military and commercial platforms globally. Production Assembler 1 - Defense Systems Division

Position Summary:

The Production Assembler 1 - is responsible for performing entry-level electronic and electro-mechanical subassembly of components, subassemblies in accordance with work instructions, blueprints and quality standards. This role utilizes hand tools to assemble parts, inspect work for accuracy, and maintain a safe and organized work environment. Will work closely with team members and leadership to meet production goals while ensuring product quality and adherence to company procedures.

Responsibilities:

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Shared services that require standing for extended periods such as sandblasting, cable preparation, laser marking, glass pressing, lapping, and grinding.
  • Masking, de-masking, basic heat shrink, wire winding, basic lacing cord, epoxy, bonding.
  • Cut and organize wires, check kits for shortages and fill them, help out fellow employees with tasks that may include screwing in parts, general cleaning of parts and other duties as required.
  • Previous kitting experience preferred, able to interpret BOM & parts lists. Monitoring of floor stock levels and production supplies.
  • Understanding of unit conversion (inch to mm).

Job Specifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 0 - 2 years of related assembly experience and/or training.

    J-STD-001 Certification preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate in English.

  • Basic computer skills will be needed to log into work orders, access time cards, and log workorders for special process.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Pay Range: $16.9/hr to $28.15/hr
