Phlebotomist I Location: Tampa, FL 33624 Job Type: 3+ months (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity) Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Job Summary The Client is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join its patient service team in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens, ensuring specimen integrity, and providing excellent patient care while following all laboratory and safety protocols. This is a great opportunity for candidates with at least six months of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, centrifuge, process, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for transport. Verify patient information and laboratory requisitions to ensure specimen accuracy. Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain specimen integrity by following established handling and storage procedures. Record maintenance and decontamination activities as required. Update patient information accurately in laboratory systems. Follow OSHA, DEP, and company safety regulations. Answer incoming phone calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries. Participate in required departmental training and maintain compliance with quality standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience performing venipuncture in a hospital, laboratory, or patient service center. Valid Phlebotomy Certification (where required by state law). Experience with blood draws using straight and butterfly needles. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong attention to detail and excellent patient interaction skills. Preferred Skills Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of specimen processing and laboratory safety procedures.Position is offered by a no fee agency. | |
