Our top fintech client is looking for a proactive, self-sufficient Communications Editor/Proofreader to support the drafting, editing, and refining customer-facing servicing communications (such as transactional emails, SMS, notifications, and servicing disclosures).In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex financial technology and user-centric clarity, ensuring that customer notifications, disclosures, and product updates are clear, empathetic, and actionable. Operating within a fast-paced fintech environment, this role ensures all outbound customer communications are clear, concise, compliant, and aligned with our brand voice. What You'll Bring:
- Excellent written communication skills with a strong command of grammar, style, and tone
- Familiarity with AP editorial style standards
- Strong editing, proofreading, and content refinement capabilities, with a keen eye for finding errors in digital-first formats
- Experience with communications and message development, specifically translating technical product updates into digestible customer alerts
- Ability to simplify complex fintech, product, and business messaging into clear, concise language
- Skilled at adapting messaging for different audiences, segmented user bases, and diverse communication channels (e.g., push notifications vs. formal emails)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency across high-volume communications
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with multiple shifting priorities
- Effective stakeholder collaboration across cross-functional teams (including Product, Operations, Legal, and Compliance)
Required Tools / Technical:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with strong proficiency in Track Changes and version control
- SharePoint and team collaboration platforms (such as Slack, Teams, or basic project management tools)
Preferred Skills / Experience:
- Experience supporting B2C customer-facing communications
- Ability to support light operational and process improvement initiatives, including documenting communication workflows and coordinating team standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Project coordination and deadline management skills, ensuring communications launch on time alongside product updates
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to synthesize complex, technical, or data-driven information into concise messaging
- Fintech, financial services, or regulated industry experience (familiarity with navigating compliance reviews is highly valued)
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $25 to $29 hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. #LI-MH1
