Machinist Washington DC Pay From: $36 per hour MUST: At least five (5) years of experience. Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret. Demonstrated proficiency in modern manufacturing techniques such as CNC milling and turning operations (Haas and Tormach), and additive and subtractive manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret CAD technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers), computer numerical control (CNC) equipment, and computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks). Daily operation and maintenance of equipment in a machine shop. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. DUTIES: Mechanical assembly of electromechanical systems such as gimbals. Fabrication (using both additive and subtractive manufacturing means) of components for use in mechanical prototypes. Setup/troubleshooting of manufacturing systems used for component fabrication.
