JOB SUMMARY: The Events & Cause Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and actualizing a comprehensive strategy to grow community-driven revenue through local events, cause marketing partnerships, and third-party fundraising initiatives. This role will focus on a scalable, community-centered approach designed to unlock new revenue streams, increase brand visibility, and deepen engagement with local businesses and consumers. The Events & Cause Marketing Manager plays a critical role in expanding unrestricted funding and strengthening the organization's competitive position within the food security landscape by building a robust pipeline of grassroots and partnership-driven support.

Other Aspects of the Job: Incumbent will spend 50% of the time stationery working at a computer terminal, and 50% of the time in a car, talking on the telephone, visiting face-to-face with donors or in a warehouse environment. This position requires comprehension of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures. This position meets the requirements and may be considered hybrid eligible.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Required Experience

    • Minimum 3-5 years Fund Development and/or event planning experience.
    • Propensity to take initiative, coordinate with others, meet deadlines and follow through in a dynamic environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, presentation and networking skills.
    • Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite.


  2. Preferred Experience

    • Documented success in fund raising, event planning or equivalent.
    • Experience working with and overseeing volunteers.
    • Knowledge of Kansas City's philanthropic community.
    • Experience with non-profit fundraising software, Raiser's Edge experience a plus.


  3. Preferred Education

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, non-profit management or related field
