Briggs & Stratton- Power Group As a Furnace Material Handler your goal is to use your expertise, to be the go-to person for all things Furnace and melting metal. You'll also be responsible for setting up the furnaces to ensure top-notch quality products are manufactured. You will do this by: Keep materials and inventory moving by resolving incoming material exceptions and discrepancies. Partner with other teams to quickly solve issues related to metal. Monitor production flow and Furnace/Metal levels to ensure materials are available when needed. Support safety, quality, and production requirements to keep operations running smoothly. Work cross-functionally to support department needs, manage customer rates, and expedite incoming materials. Maintain accurate inventory records. Complete basic equipment repairs and perform preventive and general maintenance under general supervision. Jump in where needed and perform other duties as assigned. You are the kind of person who is/has: A team player mindset Enjoys a challenge Great interpersonal skills and communication skills Proficient Computer skills Required Qualifications: Forklift experience Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum of 1.5 years' relevant working experience to include; Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic skills Additional Knowledge & Skills: Must be able to use computers for email communications and data entry for production/recieving systems Physical & Environmental Requirements: May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. (Frequently 5 - 25 pounds), (Occasionally 25 - 75 pounds), (Rarely greater than 75 pounds) Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Exposure to heat for a full work shift (8-12 hours) Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done. Position Description Handles incoming and outgoing materials to support production requirements. Job Responsibilities Resolves exceptions to incoming materials processing Processes customer returns in business related software and work with other departments to resolve Monitors production and insure sufficient inventory is on-hand and available as needed Works with various departments to fulfill customer needs including maintaining customer orders and expediting incoming orders Responsible for the coordination of, and accuracy of cycle counting Performs other duties as assigned Job Skills Requirements Ability to safely and efficiently operator forklift Computer skills including; Excel and SAP Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location Education High School diploma General Education Degree Experience Requirements Previous material handling experience preferred Physical & Environmental Requirements Some physical demand; often lifts light weight material. Rarely lifting/moving average weight (25-50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
