- Influences the financial performance of a project by monitoring scheduling, forecasting, and cost control efforts.
- Identifies and mitigates risks to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Conducts regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Collaborates with engineers and other stakeholders to resolve design issues and address any changes.
- Closely monitors and communicates risks, status etc. in project review meetings.
- Drives the pursuit of claims and change orders, tracks and reports on progress.
- Oversees procurement and buyout activities to ensure it adheres to a strict budget.
- Ensures the development, maintenance, and utilization of CPM schedules throughout the life of the project.
- Directs project contract management activities to review, address, and resolve contractual issues.
- Establishes and promotes a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
- Ensures subcontractors and suppliers are closely managed.
- Oversees conventional tunneling operations, including traditional excavation methods and drill-and-blast activities, and coordinates with project teams to ensure production, quality, safety, and contract requirements are achieved.
- Monitors tunneling-specific risks, including ground conditions, geotechnical performance, excavation and ground support performance, drill-and-blast cycles, equipment utilization, and interface management, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to tunnel construction activities.
- Manages employees by mentoring, coaching, providing feedback, and evaluating performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Employment Conditions:
- 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management
- 5 years of tunneling experience
- Experience with conventional tunneling methods, including traditional excavation, drill-and-blast, ground support systems, and associated tunneling equipment
- Supervisory/Management experience
