Equipment Safety Engineer, Terafab

TheTerafabteam is seeking an experiencedEquipment Safety Engineerthat willberesponsibleforensuringsafety is integrated into factory,equipment, and tooldesign from concept through productionforthe Austin Fab.You will collaborate with New Programs Engineering, AI & Robotics, Manufacturing, and design teams to develop standardized, high-quality safety solutions for automated manufacturing equipment. This role spans design, build, commissioning, and production support.Working both independently and cross-functionally, you will help solve complex safety challenges with practical, innovative approachesdriving safer workplaces, improving efficiency. • Lead machine safety activities across equipment lifecycle from concept, design, build, to sustaining production

• Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments for automation, robotics, and manufacturing systems

• Ensure compliance with Tesla standards and global regulations (ANSI, ISO, OSHA, NFPA, RIA)

• Execute FAT and SAT to verify safety requirements and ensure equipment is safe for operation

• Validate safety control systems, including functional testing of safety PLCs and safety devices

• Partner with design, manufacturing, and external vendors to develop and deploy robust safety solutions

• Support audits, change management, and continuous improvement tomaintainsafe

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineeringor equivalentexperience

• 5+ years of experience in equipment or safety engineeringin the semiconductor or related industries

• Knowledge of machine safety systems and controls platforms

• Knowledgewith safety standards (ANSI, ISO, RIA, NFPA, OSHA, SEMI)

• Experience supporting design review, FAT/SAT, commissioning

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

• Certifications (CSP, CMSE)preferred
