Job Title: Commercial Project Manager 1 Location(s): Houston, TX Job Summary: We are seeking a Commercial Project Coordinator / Junior Commercial Project Manager to support the commercial and financial management of small to medium-sized projects. This role works closely with Project Managers to ensure financial accuracy, contract compliance, risk management, and successful project execution while driving continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with commercial guidelines and internal financial policies.
- Maintain accurate project financial records and ensure data integrity in SAP and other business systems.
- Support project reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling activities.
- Assist the Project Manager in achieving project financial targets, including gross profit, cash flow, and asset optimization.
- Coordinate with customer commercial representatives to resolve commercial issues.
- Support contract administration and claims management in collaboration with contract management teams.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assist in partner and subcontractor selection during project execution.
- Represent assigned projects in internal and external commercial discussions when required.
- Coordinate commercial project team activities while promoting ethical business practices and compliance.
- Manage multiple small projects or sub-projects with low to moderate complexity.
- Track project deliverables, timelines, and financial performance.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and project management best practices.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and project teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of project coordination, project management, finance, or commercial operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Understanding of project financial management principles.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, project reporting, and cost control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of contract and claims management.
- Familiarity with project risk management methodologies.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies.
