Your Opportunity

Now is the time to bring your expertise to Insight. We are not just a tech company; we are a people-first company. We believe that by unlocking the power of people and technology, we can accelerate transformation and achieve extraordinary results. As a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator, we help organizations modernize and manage complex technology environments across infrastructure, cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and intelligent edge.

As a Market Development Executive III focused on Infrastructure, you will drive growth across Insight's California State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) market. You will identify, develop, and close complex infrastructure opportunities spanning data center modernization, compute, storage, networking, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and infrastructure services.

This is a strategic sales role for someone who understands how infrastructure decisions connect across the broader technology ecosystem. You will work alongside account executives, architects, engineers, services teams, and strategic technology partners to develop solutions based on each client's unique environment, priorities, and modernization strategy.

California SLED Focus: This role exclusively supports California State, Local Government, and Education customers. The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of technology sales experience, with a strong background in enterprise infrastructure solutions and public sector/SLED selling. Experience navigating California government procurement, contract vehicles, budget cycles, and complex technology initiatives is highly preferred.

  • Drive growth across data center, compute, storage, networking, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and related services within California SLED.
  • Partner closely with Insight's account executives, technical architects, solution specialists, services teams, and OEM partners to build comprehensive solutions.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans focused on identifying net-new infrastructure opportunities and expanding existing client relationships; in partnership with account executives and independently.
  • Engage with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, infrastructure leaders, IT directors, architects, and other key technology decision-makers.
  • Lead conversations around infrastructure modernization, data center transformation, cloud integration, resiliency, security, capacity, performance, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop opportunities across hardware, software, professional services, managed services, and complex multi-vendor solutions.
  • Navigate complex SLED sales cycles, including RFPs, procurement processes, contract vehicles, budget cycles, and multi-stakeholder buying environments.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and opportunity creation through solution development, negotiation, and close.
  • Build trusted relationships with strategic technology partners across the infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline and consistently deliver against revenue, gross profit, and growth objectives.
  • Be Ambitious: This opportunity is not just about what you do today but also about where you can go tomorrow. When you bring your hunger, heart, and harmony to Insight, your potential will be met with continuous opportunities to grow, advance, and elevate your career.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-10 years of successful technology sales experience, ideally within infrastructure and/or California SLED.
  • Demonstrated success selling enterprise infrastructure solutions, including areas such as servers/compute, storage, networking, data center, virtualization, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, or infrastructure services.
  • Proven ability to hunt/expand for new business, develop whitespace, and grow complex strategic accounts.
  • Experience managing and closing large, complex, multi-stakeholder technology opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of how infrastructure technologies work together and the ability to lead with the client's business and technical requirements rather than a single product or OEM.
  • Experience working within a solutions integrator, VAR, OEM, or technology services organization strongly preferred.
  • Experience working across major infrastructure technology ecosystems such as Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, Pure Storage, NetApp, Nutanix, VMware/Broadcom, NVIDIA, Microsoft, AWS, or similar providers preferred.
  • Knowledge of California SLED procurement processes, contracting vehicles, cooperative purchasing programs, budgeting cycles, and public-sector buying environments preferred.
  • Ability to develop executive relationships while collaborating effectively with technical sellers, architects, engineers, services teams, and account executives.
  • Proven track record of quota attainment and pipeline development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
