Description
Ready to Get Hands-On? Let's Build Something Great.

At Mayville Engineering Company (MEC), great manufacturing starts with great people. Every part we produce, every process we follow, and every goal we reach depends on a team that shows up ready to work, learn, and get the job done right.

We're looking for a Production Operator I who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and enjoys being part of a team. You'll operate basic machinery, keep materials moving, perform quality checks, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

No previous manufacturing experience? No problem! If you're dependable, willing to learn, and ready to roll up your sleeves, MEC could be the place to start your next chapter.

Here's Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Keep Production Moving: Operate basic machinery and follow established procedures to help keep production running smoothly.

  • Keep Materials Flowing: Load and unload materials into equipment and help maintain an efficient workflow.

  • Keep an Eye on Quality: Perform routine checks and pay attention to the details that help ensure products meet MEC's standards.

  • Speak Up and Solve Problems: Monitor machine operations, report issues to your supervisor, and assist with troubleshooting when needed.

  • Take Care of Your Equipment: Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance as trained and directed.

  • Keep Your Work Area Ready: Maintain a clean, organized workspace that supports safety and efficiency.

  • Put Safety First: Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies every shift.

  • Be a Team Player: Work with your coworkers to meet production goals and take on other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education and experience.

  • A basic understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes is helpful; previous production experience is preferred but not required.

  • The ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.

  • Basic math skills and computer skills, including the ability to work with ERP systems.

  • The ability to communicate effectively in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility, as applicable to the role.

  • A dependable, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn.

The Job, Beyond the Job Description

Manufacturing is hands-on work, and this role requires you to be ready to move. Depending on your assignment, you should be able to:

  • Lift and move materials, including items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequently stand and walk on concrete floors throughout an 8-12-hour shift.

  • Perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and reaching as needed.

  • Operate motorized vehicles throughout a shift when required by the assignment.

  • Work in areas where noise levels may require hearing protection.

You'll be expected to follow applicable safety procedures and use required protective equipment.

Why MEC? Because Every Role Matters.

At MEC, you don't have to be an expert on day one. What matters is showing up, working safely, being willing to learn, and taking pride in what you do.

  • Get Your Foot in the Door: Build valuable manufacturing skills and gain hands-on experience.

  • Learn as You Go: Develop your abilities while learning equipment, processes, and quality standards.

  • Be Part of the Team: Work alongside people who depend on one another to get the job done.

  • See What You Accomplish: Take pride in the products you help make and the goals you help achieve.

  • Build Your Future: Grow your experience and explore opportunities to develop your career at MEC.
