Island Kitchen In Flight is a large-scale inflight catering company providing catering and concierge services to crew and passengers across Florida. Our flagship kitchen operates in Naples, FL, in close proximity to the airport, running 24/7/365 to service crew and passenger meal orders throughout Southwest Florida. Founded in Nantucket in 2018, Island Kitchen has since expanded to Naples, Miami, and Palm Beach to bring fresh, nutritious dining options to private aviation clients across the state.

The Sous Chef manages kitchen staff in the absence of the Chef and oversees the preparation of hot food and related inventory levels in the kitchen, upholding IK Standards at all times. The Sous Chef acts as an on-site problem solver when situations arise that require immediate action, and is granted the authority to make decisions consistent with company procedures to protect customer satisfaction, safety, and cost control. This job requires the ability to work between the hours of 1/2AM as a start time until production ends (usually between 8a-12p depending on volume). You must be okay with working these hours or please do not apply. 
-7-10+ years of experience in a kitchen environment within a catering or fine dining establishment.

-Experience in inflight/airline catering strongly preferred.
-Current Safe Food Handling Certificate.
-Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures and government food code regulations.
-Culinary preparation skills and excellent knife skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team-driven, fast-paced environment. Supervisory experience preferred. English is required, Spanish is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.50 per hour

Flexibility required to work weekends and holidays. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply good judgment to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Frequently required to use hands to handle, reach, and carry with hands and arms. Required to stand and walk. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This is a year round, full-time position with an ideal start date by Sept 15.
