Position Description:

The Program Manager, Purpose at PIMCO role at PIMCO offers resourceful self-starters the opportunity to learn and be challenged. This is a fast-paced environment which requires a high degree of professionalism, organization, and detail orientation, coupled with the ability to multitask and prioritize. We encourage and appreciate taking initiative and taking ownership, plus bringing forth creative ideas. We are looking for team-oriented candidates who are highly professional and value diversity in their everyday workload.

This role will be responsible for managing local grantee relationships, executing employee engagement programming, and overseeing the organization's impact measurement processes. The role sits at the intersection of community investment, operational execution, and data -- and is well suited to someone who is organized, relationship-driven, and curious about how AI and emerging tools can improve how social impact work gets done.

This role will be based in New York and report to the Global Head of Corporate Engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

I. Grantee and Partner Relationships:

  • Manage a portfolio of grantee relationships across NYC, Canada, Miami, Chicago and Sao Paulo, serving as a primary point of contact for grant reporting, check-ins, and ongoing communication.

  • Support the full grant lifecycle, including due diligence, monitoring, documentation, and close-out.

  • Coordinate with colleagues on grant communications, portfolio updates, and board or leadership reporting.

  • Conduct presentations about the firm's Purpose at PIMCO programme(s) for employees upon request.

II. Community and Employee Engagement:

  • Design and execute community engagement and volunteering programming across portfolio, serving as the on-the-ground lead and project manager (e.g., oversee planning, logistics, legalities, communication, recruitment, etc.).

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align programming with employee interests and organizational priorities and to drive participation.

  • Collaborate on and own local execution of Global signature initiatives, (e.g., Pro Bono Corps, Global Month of Volunteering and Share the Harvest).

  • Track participation, gather feedback, and report on program outcomes.

  • Support the development of new programming concepts as needs evolve

III. Impact Measurement and Assessment:

  • Serve as the primary internal liaison for the organization's impact assessment partnership(s), managing day-to-day workflows, data collection, and vendor communication.

  • Support the development of internal measurement capacity over time, with a long-term eye toward building or informing an in-house function.

  • Help identify and evaluate tools and approaches -- including AI-enabled options -- that could improve how the organization captures and communicates its impact.

  • Develop and deliver impact reporting, storytelling, and internal communications related to community investment outcomes.

  • Assess grantee fulfilment of agreements through submission of reporting and documentation

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6+ years of experience in corporate social impact, philanthropy, nonprofit management, community engagement, or a related field

  • Experience managing external partner or grantee relationships, with a track record of building trust and delivering against commitments.

  • Familiarity with impact measurement frameworks, data collection processes, or grant reporting requirements.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

  • Strategic thinker with outstanding written and verbal communications skills

  • Experience working with or alongside a third-party impact assessment platform or nonprofit measurement partner.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and a genuine interest in applying them to social impact workflows.

  • Experience designing or executing employee engagement or volunteering programming in a corporate context.
