Under the general supervision of the Manager of Mechanical Systems, performs preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and monitoring of plant engineering equipment and building systems. Maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical facility infrastructure. Conducts equipment rounds, identifies potential equipment deficiencies before failures occur, and takes appropriate corrective action. Completes maintenance activities, repair documentation, and preventive maintenance records using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responds to service calls, alarms, and emergency situations as required while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and departmental standards. Works collaboratively with staff, contractors, and other departments to support uninterrupted facility operations and a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities
- 1. General
- 1.1 Reports to work in the required uniform and ID badge while presenting a professional appearance at the start of each shift in accordance with YNHH & departmental uniform policies
- 2. Preventive Maintenance
- 2.1 Conducts equipment rounds and documents all appropriate findings. Notifies the Leadman if any contractors have moved into a mechanical or equipment room. Any defective equipment identified during rounds must be repaired when feasible or documented in the logbook and on the shop status board for follow-up.
- 3. Troubleshooting
- 3.1 Uses proper diagnostic techniques, tools, and testing equipment to efficiently evaluate, analyze, and identify equipment problems.
- 4. Repair Work
- 4.1 Completes repair work in a professional, safe, and timely manner while maintaining established quality standards.
Qualifications
EDUCATION Position requires high school graduation or GED, including or supplemented by technical courses in electricity, electronics, machinery or equivalent on the job training. EXPERIENCE Minimum of three (3) years experience with sufficient experience in maintenance on a Pneumatic Tube System and/or Manufacturing Automated Assembly Line Machinery. SPECIAL SKILLS Knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform maintenance on a variety of electro/mechanical systems. Knowledge of electricity and use of electrical testing instruments required. Computer skills are required. Preferred qualifications: Experience in welding, electrical systems, basic commercial plumbing and light metal work.
