RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the New Brunswick campus. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 37-bed unit that provides the highest level of care for critically ill and medically complex newborns throughout the region. We deliver comprehensive, family centered care to preterm and full-term infants with the most complex medical and surgical conditions. Our unit is staffed 24 hours per day by a highly specialized multidisciplinary team which includes board certified neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, lactation specialists, and pediatric subspecialists. The multidisciplinary team delivers highly specialized monitoring, critical care interventions, and evidence-based treatment focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Assistant Director of Patient Care plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Patient Care in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, patient centered nursing services within a designated unit or department. This position combines clinical expertise, leadership, and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient operations, staff development & engagement, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Assistant Director fosters a collaborative environment, promotes patient safety, and drives quality improvement initiatives while assisting in the management of daily operations and long-term strategic goals.
