Student Teaching Supervisor

Position Purpose

The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking supervisors for student teachers in secondary World Languages and/or the K-12 ELL Endorsement for the Spring semester 2027.

Job Responsibilities

Supervisors will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Communicate over email with students, cooperating teachers, and program coordinator weekly.
• Communicate as needed with the Office of Student Services.
• Preplan and do observations for each student.
• Provide feedback for videotaping analysis.
• Complete student evaluation sheets for final evaluation.

Education Requirement

Master's Degree in a language education-related field.

Qualifications

Supervisor must have held a teaching license in the United States.

Required Experience

Supervisor must have successfully completed a minimum of three years of teaching at the Elementary, Middle School, Junior High School, or High School level in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Post-secondary teaching experience.
