  • Perform and oversee engineering analyses, feasibility studies, and preliminary calculations that inform both Charrette discussions and project documentation.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and collaborate closely with planners, architects, and project managers.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet applicable codes, agency requirements, and Hawai'ispecific permitting standards.
  • Contribute to project scoping, scheduling, design coordination, and client communications.
  • Champion collaborative, culturally sensitive, and sustainabilityfocused design approaches.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Hawai'i Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within an approved timeframe.
  • 8-10+ years of civil engineering design experience across site, roadway, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design teams on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills suitable for clientfacing collaboration and Charrette participation.
  • Proficiency with design platforms such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience participating in or leading Charrettes or collaborative design workshops.
  • Familiarity with Hawai'i agency processes, permitting requirements, and infrastructure programs.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, planners, and environmental specialists.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and engineering documentation standards.
Why SSFM?
