Senior Engineer - eVinci Safety Analysis

About the role:

As a senior engineer you will work with Safety Analysis, MOOSE, numerical thermal analysis, heat and mass transfer. You will work within the eVinci Safety Analysis team and working with the greater eVinciTM Micro Reactor project team, to perform modeling and safety analysis activities for advanced reactor designs.

You will report to the eVinci Safety Analysis Manager and be located in Pittsburgh, PA. You will be hybrid or remote.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for assigned work performed in the safety analysis of microreactor systems consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced heat and mass tranfer/numerical analyis skills
  • Develop technical documentation and presentations related to these calculations and analyses
  • Work as a team (i.e. system and component design, testing, manufacturing, and materials) to solve challenging technical problems to progress the eVinci Microreactor and other advanced reactor designs
  • Work and communicate with technical leads and project managers in coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope


Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience as a safety engineer
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles with experience in thermal hydraulics and applied fluid transport.


Preferred:



  • Advanced (MS) degree in heat and mass transfer and numerical thermal analysis
  • Modeling or simulation experience with the INL MOOSE-based Multiphysics (neutronic and thermal mechanical) codes and neutronics analysis (MCNP, Serpent)
