JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of Residence Life at Penn State University's Abington is looking for dynamic and energetic Penn State students to join the team at the Lions Gate Residence Hall. Desk assistants are vital members of the Lions Gate team, who support operations within the Residence Hall throughout the academic school year. They serve as representatives of Lions Gate and are responsible for upholding the mission and vision of Penn State University. Successful candidates must model appropriate behavior and maintain good academic and student conduct status with the University.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing outstanding customer services including answering phones and routing calls and messages

  • Serving as a resource for general building inquiries

  • Monitoring guest sign in /out

  • Issuing temporary parking passes to guests

  • Observing lobby area and reporting any issues to professional staff or University Police

  • Games and Equipment sign in/sign out

  • General administrative duties and/or projects as assigned

Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
