Debate Team Head Coach

Season Dates: September 5, 2024- March, 2025

Duties: This position will work specifically to lead the high school Debate Team. Duties include, but are not limited to supervision and organization structure of practices for the high school program; Instructing competitive speakers in debate techniques to prepare them for speaking competition; Analysis of performances to assist in the development of each individual speaker; Ability to understand basic concepts of MSHSL speech rules and judging requirements. In addition, you will be required to supervise/coach at meets. Applicants must be able to adjust work schedule for practices and meets.

Preferences: A BA/BS Degree and MN Teacher License with coaching certificate OR equivalent and previous experience working with high school age students. Previous experience as a participant and/or coach.

Qualifications: A strong background in college and/or high school debate competition as a participant and/or coach is required. In addition, a strong work ethic and dedication to furthering the benefits of participation in co-curricular activities is essential. Leadership skills including but not limited to organization, vision, motivation, and conflict resolution. Ability to work with students, parents, staff, and community.

$1530 per schedule c
Stipend may be pro-rated based on FTE of assignment
