Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Geology Intern/Co-Op in our Kennesaw, GA office for the Spring or Summer of 2025. The position offers the opportunity to apply geologic, hydrogeologic, and scientific academic knowledge to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office. The position is for approximately 13 to 15 weeks during the Spring or Sumer semester of 2025. Preferred candidates would have the ability to return to the position for up to two additional semester rotations during their undergraduate or graduate studies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assisting with geologic/hydrogeologic calculations using computer-based technical tools;
  • Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
  • Following instructions and interacting with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel, and;
  • Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Currently registered in a Bachelor's or Master's university degree program in an applicable field. (required)
  • Degree focus areas in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, or environmental geology. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcView, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
