Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as strategic sourcing, quality, operations, and product management
partners. As a Mechatronics Engineer, you'll drive the development of innovative power tools-from concept and prototyping to testing and preparing final designs for commercial launch. Excelling in this role requires strong teamwork, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We're seeking a dynamic professional skilled in electronic circuit and electrical design, including microprocessors, sensors, wiring, and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). With your experience in PCBA layout (Altium preferred), wireless communication (Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Zigbee, Bluetooth), and designing for reliability, this is a great opportunity to showcase your skills.

Apply your expertise in manufacturing
processes like soldering and SMT, along with strong problem-solving, project management, and the ability to make timely decisions with sound judgment, to help develop cutting-edge power tools. If you bring experience with 3D modeling, Windchill PLM, and Creo it is a desired asset, and prior power tool experience will set you apart.

Success in this role requires clear, concise communication of technical information across all levels of the organization. You'll flourish in a collaborative team environment while demonstrating the ability to both take direction and lead lab technicians, designers, and suppliers. A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential qualities for excelling in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and enhance electrical and electro-mechanical systems for innovative new power tools that meet customer needs and global industry standards.
  • Prepare design concepts for analysis and rapid prototype validation.
  • Collaborate with team members, suppliers and operations from conceptual design through production launch.
  • Coordinate and drive the completion of testing. Work closely and cooperatively with lab technicians during test execution to assure that test objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including layouts, drawings, specifications, bills of material, test plans, lab reports and technical construction files.
  • Provide support to strategic sourcing partners, manufacturing
    , customer service, procurement, quality assurance departments and product management.




Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical or Electrical Engineering, coupled with 5+ years of experience in electronic circuits and electrical design
  • Solid grasp of product design fundamentals at both component and system levels, including tolerance stack-ups and inspection procedures.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly with organizing tasks and managing time to complete multiple concurrent assignments.



Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Fully site based
  • Travel less than 10%
  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident



Key Competencies

  • Electronic circuits and electrical design including microprocessors, sensors, wiring, connectors and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PCBA layout and design. Altium experience is preferred.
  • Design integration of wireless communication including Wi-Fi 6, 5G Telecom, Zigbee, and Bluetooth.
  • Design for reliability to ensure electrical designs are reliable and meet customer expectations throughout the product's life cycle.
  • Knowledge and strong grasp of manufacturing
    processes including soldering, SMT, potting, and coating.

  • High initiative and the drive to continuously improve.
  • Knowledge of electric motor controls is preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling is a plus.
  • Experience using Windchill PLM software and Creo Parametric (Pro/E) is a plus.
