Position Overview

NOTE: This position is funded through an external grant. Continued employment beyond the fiscal year is contingent upon continued funding.

POSITION SUMMARY
This twelve-month Professional Staff member will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing new curriculum/updated pedagogy and instruction in Math pathway courses, with the collaboration of Faculty members and respective stakeholders. This position reports to GPS/CSI Activity Director.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate course alignment, and course scheduling for both Dual Enrollment and College level courses.
  • Consistent communication and coordination with regional school districts regarding Math area initiatives and faculty professional development.
  • Promote a customer service-focused environment to respond to stakeholders' needs.
  • Maintain a proactive role in academic and curricular review.
  • Participate in student learning outcomes assessment.
  • Incorporate and utilize technology in the classroom.
  • Provide academic advisement and tutoring; coordinating with instructors.
  • Participate on faculty and campus committees.
  • Perform other faculty-related assignments requested by the CSI/GPS Activity Director, VPASA, and/or President.
  • May teach up to 3 courses.
  • May be expected to have an evening ,weekend, or online course assignment.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or Economics. All applicants must complete a Master's degree in Mathematics or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics within three years from date of hire.
  • Strong writing, speaking, presenting, and interpersonal skills in person and online.
  • Strong technology skills including knowledge of and comfort with educational technologies, such as presentation and collaboration tools, and learning management systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
  • Experience in curriculum design and in working with first-generation college students.
  • Experience working with faculty at both secondary and college levels, or experience as a community college instructor.
