What You'll Do:

The Data Analyst aggregates and performs statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership. Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity. Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects. Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement. Finds it challenging to present data to the Business in a format that can provide benefit to the entire organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze business objectives and develop data solutions to meet LGE's Organizational Data Analysis needs
  • Develop a proactive methodology for effective data analysis by collecting, analyzing and reporting on data sources
  • Develop and document data standards, data definitions, and data exchange best practices,
  • Research new and existing data sources in order to contribute to new development, improve data analysis processes, and make recommendations for data quality initiatives
  • Through collaboration with key stakeholders, understand pain points in the existing analytical process and come up with strategic and transformational solutions to support revenue growth and cost savings
  • Develop and produce custom dashboards, internal reports, and ad-hoc reports to support analytic reviews for business development strategies
  • Facilitate relationships with core software provider and other third-party vendors in order to get resolution on general inquiries and other solutions and opportunities
  • Engage closely with stakeholders to identify SWOT analysis for business processes and practices, identifying process improvement areas
  • Implement new technology solutions that improve business efficiency and meet the operational goals
  • Act as evangelist for Data Analysis benefits across the organization promoting usage
  • Be part of the planning and implementation of project, product, and process changes
  • Stay current with industry trends regarding areas of responsibilities
  • Be familiar with and follow all LGE policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform administration duties of data warehouse platform, BI software, and visualization tool with responsibility to setup new employees and manage user permissions
  • Obtain comprehensive knowledge of data warehouse platform, BI software, and visualization tool reporting functionality
  • Work closely with Employee Development to keep staff up to date with BI software and how staff can best leverage reporting
  • Maintain familiarity with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg CC and Patriot Act

Who you are:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Technology, Finance, Economics or Data Analytics
  • Required: 2+ years of Data Analysis, Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Reporting and Analysis tools or; 2+ years of Product, Project, and Data Management at a consumer driven financial institution
  • Strong operational, organizational, and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify improvements and make decisions
