Purpose of Position
The School of Computing and Analytics ( https://sca.nku.edu) at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Information Systems & Analytics (IS&A) program at the rank of Assistant Professor, scheduled to start in August 2025. Salary and benefits are competitive.

We seek candidates who demonstrate a passion for both teaching and research, particularly in business analytics and/or information security management.

The School of Computing and Analytics ( SCA) is housed in the College of Informatics ( https://informatics.nku.edu) which unites the School of Computing and Analytics and the School of Media and Communication to embrace the modern concept of information in all its aspects. The College moved into its $52 million-dollar new building, Griffin Hall, in 2011. The SCA offers multiple degrees and operates as a combination of three programs: information systems and analytics; computer science and software engineering; and cybersecurity and information technology. The SCA has around 1,250 students majoring in those areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Information Systems & Analytics (IS&A) program offers undergraduate majors in Business Information Systems and Health Informatics, minors in Business Analytics and Information Systems, and Master's degrees in Business Informatics and Health Informatics. The IS&A program also shares AACSB accreditation with the NKU Haile College of Business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach both face-to-face and online courses. The standard teaching load in the Information Systems & Analytics program is three classes per semester for active researchers. The candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.


  • Maintain an active research agenda in the field to ensure ongoing qualification as a Scholarly Academic (SA) under AACSB accreditation standards.
  • Participate in service activities, such as serving on committees at the School, College, and University levels, and/or contributing to the professional community.
  • The successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati area.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited program. ABD candidates will be considered.
