Summary We are seeking skilled ASME Vessel/API Tank Fitters to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and fabricating pressure vessels and tanks in accordance with ASME & API codes and standards. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Safety and quality are not only an expectation, but a condition of employment. Essential Functions
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for ASME pressure vessels and API Tanks.
- Assemble and fit components, including flanges, nozzles, and fittings, ensuring proper layout, alignment and fit-up.
- Utilize tools used to fabricate vessels and tanks such as water levels, key plates, strong backs, etc.
- Assist in performing welding tasks on various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy metals, in accordance with ASME & API codes and standards.
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications and codes.
- Collaborate with shop supervision, shop QA/QC, and other craftsmen to ensure project requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and assist in resolving fitting issues as they arise.
- Cut and bevel holes/openings with a hand torch or plasma that requires limited grinding to achieve work.
- Fit shell cans together figuring mismatches, if any.
- Layout heads and shells of vessels per drawings, utilizing water level.
- Layout quarter lines on heads, bottoms, and roofs.
- Properly fit nozzles, clips, and attachments in a head or shell of a vessel.
- Fabricate pipe from isometric drawings.
- Accurately figure cut lengths from an isometric drawing.
- Safely and proficiently operate overhead cranes.
- Properly rig and fit shell cans and heads together.
- Correctly rig vessels and load them onto trailers.
Position Requirements
Qualification Standards:
- 3+ years field experience.
- Undergo baseline audiogram.
- Pass drug/alcohol screen and background check.
- Rigging and flagging experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School or GED preferred but not required.
- Trade School program preferred but not required.
